Company History
Performance Watcher was born not in a software lab, but in the field. It was created by bankers for bankers, designed to solve the real-world challenge of explaining performance clearly and objectively.
2005
The Vision
Nicholas Hochstädter, then Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management at Ferrier Lullin & Cie (UBS Group), identified a critical gap: the industry lacked intuitive, objective tools to evaluate management quality. He developed the first prototype to compare net-of-fees performance against risk, a radical shift from theoretical market indices.
2009
Early Days
IBO (Investment by Objectives) was founded in Morges, Switzerland. The goal was to transform the prototype into a fully operational, secure, and industrial-grade platform capable of protecting sensitive banking data.
2013 – Partnership with the Swiss Association of Asset Managers
2014-2017
Expansion and Integration
As adoption grew, the platform became a trusted reference, moving from Portfolio Watcher to Performance Watcher in 2014.
2017 – Reached 30 bln AUM
2018
Performance Watcher 2.0
To support a rapidly growing community, the company launched Performance Watcher 2.0. This major release introduced enhanced analytics and a more robust infrastructure, allowing the platform to scale significantly and track tens of billions in assets.

Structuring for Scale
Eric Bissonnier joined as CEO to transition the company from a founder-led structure to a scalable fintech organization. Under his leadership, IBO clarified its long-term vision, strengthened its governance, and initiated the development of a robust next-generation platform, preparing the ground for mass adoption.

A New Strategic Era
The arrival of Pierre-Alexandre Rousselot as CEO marks a turning point for the company. This leadership change drives the creation of a dedicated sales and marketing team and the commercial launch of Performance Watcher 3.0 – a modernized ecosystem designed to meet the accelerating demand for transparency.
